As the club looks to build on the success of previous sessions and grow its rugby programme, Andrew Evans, Rugby Development Officer (RDO) at Imperial College University, has been appointed as Old Emanuel RFC Men’s new Head Coach.
He will lead the team into their 2022/2023 season and the new Counites 1 League. Evans joins the club while continuing his role as head coach, RDO and Director of Rugby Imperial College University.
The club is also delighted to announce that Chris Dodd will continue as Director of Rugby, Colts Head coach and begin a coach development programme for the club.
Commenting on the announcement of the new head coach, Old Emanuel RFC Director of Rugby Chris Dodd said: “We are thrilled to announce the appointment of such a strong head coach and were impressed with him and his commitment to building for the future.
“Old Emanuel RFC has always wanted to lead from the front when it comes to growing and evolving and his appointment as the head coach looks to continue that.
“Andrew is a talented coach who understands the club rugby landscape exceptionally well. We are dedicated to supporting his development into the best coach he can be. We are excited to have him lead our senior program into its new era.
On joining the club as Head Coach, Evans said: “I’m extremely excited to be joining the club, during the interview process it was clear to me that Old Emanuel is a club moving in the right direction with an extremely diligent committee, and I am grateful for this fantastic opportunity to develop an exciting brand of rugby across the squad, and help to create some great match day experiences for the whole club"
