We have some exciting news to share with you all!
Following negotiations, founded on our shared values and a mutual commitment to supporting our local communities, we are delighted to announce that OERFC have been offered the opportunity to make Richard Challoner School, our new home.
There are multiple sports pitches at the back of the school ground, which is where all training and games will take place. This includes the use of onsite utilities, including; kitchen, toilets, changing rooms and seating area.
The move to Challoner will be completed in 3 stages:
Stage 1:
Senior Mens team who are already onsite, full time training & games at the ground.
Their next home game is Saturday 17th January KO at 14:00 and we’d love to see as many of you there as possible.
Stage 2:
Lions Colts down to U11’s will move over and be based at Challoner full time from January 2026.
Starting 11th January.
Stage 3:
Following a wider Lions meeting, all other Lions age groups will remain at Kings for the rest of the 25-26 season. They will move over, ready for a September 2026 start.
This allows us and Kings time to adjust and discussions are ongoing how we can continue working together as clubs.
This is viewed by the Senior Committee as a brilliant opportunity to refocus the club back to our core purpose of delivering community rugby. As Challoner already provides our largest feed of players into the Lions we see this as a strategic opportunity to strengthen and grow that relationship.
In order to deliver this we require a reset in input across the board in terms
of volunteers so please get in touch chairman@oldemanuelrfc.co.uk if
you can assist or want to know more about roles we need help filling.
